As an accident reconstructionist at Kineticorp, Mr. Rayburn investigates and reconstructs vehicle-to-vehicle crashes, vehicle-to-pedestrian crashes and crashes involving commercial vehicles. In the course of investigating and reconstructing crashes Mr. Rayburn can identify mechanical or electrical issues to identify potential causation.  His experience as an ASE Master technician and knowledge of vehicle systems allows him to proficiently assess the post-crash condition of a vehicle to facilitate the imaging of event data from vehicles involved in crashes.  He has experience tracing and repairing wiring as well as designing, fabricating and installing wiring harnesses in passenger vehicles and tractor trailers.  Mr. Rayburn has knowledge of multiplexed communication protocols and how they are integrated in automotive and heavy truck applications to exchange data throughout the network.  He is an SAE certified Heavy Vehicle Event Data Recorder (HVEDR) Technician, and is experienced in the retrieval of data from HD ECUs, Collision Avoidance Systems, and Anti-lock Brake control modules from heavy trucks.  He is a certified Bosch Crash Data Retrieval (CDR) System® Technician.

Prior to working at Kineticorp, Mr. Rayburn assisted in the design and production of Colorado’s first Bariatric Ambulance for American Medical Response (AMR). This emergency vehicle was used to transport morbidly obese patients and can be seen in the documentary, “Patrick Deuel- The Half Ton Man.” He produced several specialty vehicles while at AMR, including Cheyenne, Wyoming’s Critical Care Transport Ambulance, AMR Denver’s Fleet Rapid Response and Recovery Vehicle, and a one-third scale mock-up of Dale Coyne Racing’s AMR-sponsored CHAMP car.

While at Summit Bodyworks, Mr. Rayburn designed and implemented a system for manufacturing wiring harnesses prior to being installed into specialty vehicles. This helped to decrease production times of vehicles such as mobile retail unit’s, mobile medical labs, bookmobile’s, and SWAT vehicles.

In college, George was the team leader of his Senior Project group that produced a Pulse Width Modulated electric cooling fan for gasoline and diesel-powered road vehicles. This concept switches power at 10kHz reducing current needed to operate the engine’s cooling fan, thereby improving fuel economy. The team was tasked with implementing a System’s Engineering approach to organize and direct work flow. This philosophy of start to finish process management helped students to track the deliverables and measure whether the design met the stated requirements.

Mr. Rayburn’s dedication and passion for engineering and mechanics, assists in cultivating his ability to document, understand and communicate his findings when it comes to investigating accidents.  He continues to dedicate himself to the research and case work necessary to develop his skill set as an accident reconstructionist.
